Numbers - The Only Universal Truth (Gallery)

The world is a very large place to be in. Even though compared to other planets, earth seems to be the smallest, over seven (7) billion people are yet to overpopulate the earth or even occupy any of its usable space.

One unique thing about the world is the diverse set of cultures, languages, peoples, tribes, and nations. They're so many, and one common way we keep count of things is through the use of our precious numbers.

Numbers are little figures that we do not really think about daily, but we rely heavily upon them. It's a human concept because we naturally have the desire to keep note of things. Even animals operate with numbers, most birds will not hatch their eggs if they find one missing. It's just intuitive and intelligent.

The Universality of Numbers

While languages may differ in both spoken and written forms, numbers are almost essentially universal. An object that's three in number in Africa will be three as well in Asia.

Numbers are even the force behind universal unity. Most international operations and activities are successful today because nations can easily agree on numbers more than they would agree to facts. In fact, most facts are facts because of the numbers.

Numbers uniquely open up opportunities for most mathematical operations, and science, which is a universal concept, is hinged on numbers. The world essentially relies on numbers for a lot of things, and if you want to gain an edge in the world today, you have to do something related to numbers, something that allows you to manipulate numbers more than the average Joe. It is little wonder that careers such as Python programming and data analytics are selling rapidly.

Story Behind the Photos

One pleasant evening after work, I got home to find a calculator badly damaged and its damages arranged carefully and packed in a part of the house. It was a scientific calculator used by my young brother, who is an engineering student.

It was a bad sight, and since my house is almost accessible to everyone, including neigbours, it was hard to investigate the one behind this questionable act. I was not quick to throw the pieces away, and as slow as I was, @friendlymoose was quick to host this photography contest, and I feel I have been able to create beautiful pieces with this rubble.
