Hive Vs. UHive - What were they thinking?

I have been following the progression of UHive and how they have pushed their growth over the course of over two years now and have found it fascinating. It is a pretty interesting app and project, both in terms of its user interface, which is both nice and interesting, and its metaverse capabilities, which are, at most, more of a gimmick than a practical addition. In general, UHive can be considered kind of fascinating, until you dig more into it.

First, I couldn't help but get the impression that it is the creators' idea of developing an ultimate Hive from the very beginning when I saw the name of the project, which is UHive. It is easy to be misled as a newbie looking for a Hive app into downloading the UHive app. Perhaps it's their take on what the Hive Blockchain ought to have looked like. They are a web3.0-ish platform, and as a result, the fundamental premise behind both of these platforms (UHive and Hive) is basically the same: users produce content and get rewards for both producing and engaging.

It is true that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery; nevertheless, if one is going to imitate, it is essential to improve upon the original rather than merely copy it. Even though legitimate content creators, such as bloggers like myself, are the target audience for UHive's extensive marketing efforts, the platform has not been successful in attracting their attention. UHive's success is based on a central mobile app and significant marketing to onboard users. In fact, as an affiliate, you are tasked with onboarding a minimum of 500 new users in the first three months if you must maintain your affiliate status.

UHive's attempt to function as both a Web2.0 and Web3.0 platform at the same time is one of its most significant weaknesses. To begin, it is a centralised platform with the intention of functioning as a social media platform that offers the advantages of tokenization for contents in a manner consistent with Web3.0 standards. Where does this leave us? To begin, there are a great number of fake accounts of established businesses that can be found all over the app in the form of UHive spaces. These accounts try to fool users into believing that they are the real thing, which makes the platform less appealing to developers of original content.

Another significant problem is plain plagiarism; if you have ever engaged on the Hive blockchain's Streets, you will have a difficult time integrating yourself into the UHive platform because of this. A content that was shared on this platform was subjected to a straightforward plagiarism test, and the results showed that it contained up to 80% copied material. This demonstrates that UHive is merely attempting to be Meta (Facebook), albeit with a Web3.0 twist, in the form of tokenization for its contents.

In addition, I find it restrictive to just be able to work through a mobile application while, on Hive, we have a stack of frontends that support both mobile and web platforms. I have a strong suspicion that they do not want to be accessible on the web in order to steer clear of any copyright problems that might arise as a consequence of the plagiarised and low-quality content that is distributed across the network.

How Hive Bests UHive

You should be talking about the Hive blockchain and her ecosystem of decentralised applications (DApps) if you want to talk about the pinnacle of Web3.0 and the people who are the actual proponents of Web3.0. First, here in Hive, we are not trying to be two things at once.

Although Hive is a decentralised platform, it has been successful in instilling a culture of content originality in its users. Believe me when I say that everyone who has been able to "#ThriveOnHive" was already prepared to produce original work. Because of this, the Hive blockchain can simply run on the web as well as on mobile apps without the need to conceal itself. UHive is designed for Facebook users who are interested in experiencing some of the changes brought about by the evolution of web3.0. On the other hand, Hive is intended for genuine content creators who are prepared to take the time and effort required to produce their own original works.

A discussion of Hive that does not include an examination of her expansive ecosystem is, in essence, a restriction on the blockchain. On the Hive blockchain, there is nearly something suitable for each and every user. You will be astounded by how much you are capable of accomplishing while using the Hive blockchain once you have mastered its ecosystem of decentralised applications (DApps).

Final Words

You should not let UHive convince you that it is the ultimate Hive because each of these platforms are really different from one another. Trust me, UHive is a well-thought out project. However, levels of cognitive ability might vary substantially.
