LeoThreads: More than Just a Hype

The Leofinance team has undoubtedly been one of the most active on the Hive blockchain with a wealth of developers working around the clock to launch well thought-out projects, and lately, the initial #projectblank is revealed as #leothread and we will say welcome to the LeoThreads project today.

What is LeoThreads?

LeoThreads is a short-form content platform built on Leofinance. For most people, LeoThread is an alternative to Twitter on Leofinance.
But LeoThread is not the first of such dapps on the Hive blockchain; think of d.buzz and inji.com. So, what makes it special?

LeoThreads aims to become a sort-of Twitter replacement, with the aim of replicating as much of Twitter as possible and marrying it with the Leofinance overall goal. So, unlike other alternatives already available (which are all generic), LeoThreads is primarily designed to complement the Leofinance blog, to increase engagement and the production of more short-form content for Leofinance.

With LeoThreads, Leofinance blogging can exponentially increase conversations around crypto and finance, and exponentially populate the online content space, thus creating more awareness and attraction to the Leofinance community.

LeoThreads is one of the most significant features introduced by Leofinance and the Hive blockchain, and I believe it will be well worth the hype. LeoThreads will take us out of the norm of targeting specific word counts and will help serve individuals with shorter attention spans for consuming long contents and creating long contents.

LeoThreads' contents will also be rewarded like normal Leofinance posts, but will impose a character limit of a maximum of 240 words per content. Moreover, with LeoThreads, there is no limit to how many posts (threads) you can create in a day. How good is that?

The Push Towards Micro Blogging

In our world today, short-form content is now the new normal. Traditional blogging is being phased out gradually and left to the highly intellectual. Looking at Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, YouTube Shorts, and other social media platforms, short-form content is what sells the most.

People are becoming more and more impatient, and most people have not had the privilege of developing the ideal attention span needed to consume long-form content. Reading is a chore for most people, and it is a reality that we have come to appreciate and cannot deny. In fact, findings show that our average attention span is less than that of a gold fish.

In the reality of short attention spans, it is nice to see the Leofinance team take advantage of the new trend and possibly a deficit in human nature.

The Advantages of LeoThreads

I have scanned through a lot of posts about LeoThreads, and along with the obvious benefits I have cited above, according to @uyobong, Leothreads will reduce plagiarism as individuals are not being pressured to develop long-form content. He also stated that this will encourage more content on the platform as short-form content requires less time and less planning while, of course, earning rewards in the #web3 fashion.

According to the @leofinance team, Leothreads could also be used to supercharge the community pages experience and add microblogging to your community page.

As noted by @howzat, Leothreads has the potential to increase Leo Ad Revenue which may (IMO) directly and indirectly impact on the price of #Leo, thus improving the value of our Leo-based investments.

Finally, just to reiterate, @l337m45732 has clearly stated:

The other insane part about this is that you can earn crypto just by doing your same activity! If someone with a decent stake in HIVE or LEO power votes on your thread, guess what? You just earned a little bit of money. You're not earning anything from those 40,000 tweets you've sent over the past 5 years.

For me, I also believe that #LeoThreads is another opportunity to reset the early starter advantage (but more on this later).

There is no doubt that Leothreads is a huge milestone in cementing the web3 advantage of the Hive blockchain. We can't wait to get started!
